Background

HIPE was developed by former international Black Sticks player, and former assistant coach of the women's Black Sticks, Paul Derham, in conjunction with a specialist team of IT technicians.

Paul recognised there was a need for communication and information sharing to be made easier and more efficient between athletes, coaches and other support staff such as nutritionalists, physical trainers, physiotherapists and doctors, especially when athletes are based in various regions throughout New Zealand or around the world.

To achieve this goal, Paul helped to devise an internet based athlete management system. Most importantly, HIPE was designed to integrate data on athletes' progress in all areas of their development, including tactically, technically, physically and mentally so that players, coaches, medical and management staff can track a player's performance simply by using the internet.

HIPE has been used by several major sporting organisations, including New Zealand Hockey, New Zealand Cricket, New Zealand Netball and Triathlon New Zealand. Development work is ongoing with new modules and features being added so that HIPE can continue to be an important part of your organisation's success.
